ELLSWORTH — A 20-year-old local woman is facing charges after allegedly using fake identification to purchase alcohol Feb. 3.

Bonnie McCarthy, 20, of Ellsworth was summoned on charges of illegal transportation of liquor by a minor and possession of a false ID during an underage drinking detail last week.

The store that sold her alcohol was cautioned to better examine ID.

During the underage drinking detail, police also arrested Katie Proulx, 23, of Bucksport on charges of operating after habitual offender revocation and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Proulx was arrested after she ran her car over a curb, blowing out her tire.

Traffic Violation

Del Ditton, 41, of Franklin was arrested and charged with operating without a license, unlawful possession of a schedule Z drug (the prescription painkiller Tramadol) and possession of a usable amount of marijuana Feb. 2.

Ditton was transported to Hancock County Jail.

Arrests and Summonses

John Cousins, 49, Ellsworth, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and operating after suspension.

Jonas Finnemore, 77, Dover-Foxcroft, operating beyond license restriction and speeding. Finnemore was traveling 55 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone on Bangor Road Feb. 4, according to police.

Brandon Monroe, 18, Ellsworth, operating after suspension.

Fred Johnson III, 37, Hancock, domestic violence assault.

Micah Chakirelis, 26, Trenton, terrorizing and violating conditions of release.

Robert Gallagher, 49, Ellsworth, operating after suspension.

Prescilla Harper, 38, Ellsworth, warrant.

James Jordan, 41, Ellsworth, warrant and theft.

Online Romance Ends

A woman called police Feb. 3 to request an officer contact a North Carolina man and ask him to stop calling and texting her.

The woman met the man in an online chat room when she was separated from her husband. The couple are now patching up their relationship and she would like calls from the other man to stop.

He agreed to have no further contact.

Trespassing

William Cunningham, 48, of Trenton was arrested on a charge of trespassing after he refused to leave Hillfire Grill when asked to do so by staff Sunday night.

Accidents

A Verona Island man lost control of his 2005 GMC sport utility vehicle on black ice on the Bucksport Road Feb. 1.

According to the report, Alvertie Patten, 71, of Verona Island was traveling east when his SUV left the road, slid down an embankment and came to rest against a group of trees.

No injuries were reported.

Assault

Police responded to a report of assault involving two Winkumpaugh Road roommates Feb. 5.

Neither woman wanted to pursue charges.

Freeman Forbes, 71, Bradford, 76 mph in a 55-mph zone on Route 1A Feb. 6.

Daniel Brown, 26, Bangor, 50 mph in a 25-mph zone on High Street Feb. 5.

Mathew Nichols, 29, Lamoine, 49 mph in a 35-mph zone on High Street Feb. 4.

Nathan Ellis, 28, Brunswick, 44 mph in a 25-mph zone on High Street Feb. 4.
